Vienna Boys' Choir

Founded in 1498 as part of the Vienna Hofmusikkapelle by Emperor Maximilian I for private masses and concerts for the court. Countless famous Composers and Conductors like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart have worked with the Choirboys. In 1921 the Boys' Choir was turned into a private Organisation and has been giving concerts around the world since 1926.

Musikverein a.k.a. Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Wien

The Society of Friends Of Music was founded in 1812 by music loving people of the upper and middle class to promote musical life. After extensive success and struggling with to little room over the years, it was relocated to a larger building on the Karlsplatz in 1912. It also includes a conservatory, a music collection and a library. It is also home to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra

Vienna State Opera

The Vienna State Opera was one of the first buildings on the famous Ringstraße, built between 1861 and 1869 in neo-romantic style. During World War II, it was partly destroyed and reconstructed between 1948 and 1955. The State Opera offers room for 2276 spectators and it's stage is one of the largest in Europe.

Wiener Konzerthaus

The Wiener Konzerthaus was built in 1913 and has been a place for classical music till the end of World War I. After that, the program has widened to other performances, like modern dance. Next to the Musikverein and the State Opera it is one of the most famous places for music in Vienna.

Conservatory Vienna

The Conservatory Vienna is supposed to be one of the worlds best. Altough classified as a very traditional school, it is also considered innovative. As an educational establishment for students from around the world, it offers a great variety of musical education, stretching from "old" music to a very popular jazz class.

Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra

The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1848 by O. Nicolai. It has a democratic structure and since 1997, women have been accepted to the orchestra. Through history many famous musicians conducted the orchestra and it's fame is boundless. The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra is considered as one of the best world-wide.
