Did you know that Vienna is the only capital in the world that has seen a FIS World Cup Race within ist city borders? The "Hohe Wand-Wiese" is located on the outskirts of Vienna just half an hour by public transport from the city centre in picturesque Mauerbach on the slopes of the Wienerwald. The skilift is 400m long, and the slope has a maximum incline of 25%!


19 km of beautifully prepared slopes, cross-country skiing tracks and a Snowpark for boarders await you in the skiing region Ötscher, situated just 150 km from Vienna at an elevation of 810 - 1893 m. From December 14th to December 15th the winter-opening 2002 is celebrated and everybody can test the latest ski-models for nothing!


At an elevation of 700 - 1640 m, the World Cup resort Stuhleck/Semmering offers over 20 km of pistes for all levels of difficulty, 10 skiing lifts - among them Austria's longest chair lift - and a snowboarding fun park at just 1 ½ hours' train journey from Vienna!


In Gastein you can experience a piste world of superlatives: Extensive ski areas with modern lift facilities up to an altitude of 2700 meters. More than 200km of best prepared runs as well as quite a number of deep snow runs, mogul pistes mean the ultimate in piste variety.This region affords everything even the most ambitious wintersports enthusiast could wish for. The winterstart will be celebrated with a big party from November 29th till December 1st!
