Founded in 1498 as part of the Vienna Hofmusikkapelle by Emperor Maximilian I for private masses and concerts for the court.


Musikverein a.k.a. Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Wien

The Society of Friends Of Music was founded in 1812 by music loving people of the upper and middle class to promote musical life.


Vienna State Opera

The Vienna State Opera was one of the first buildings on the famous Ringstraße, built between 1861 and 1869 in neo-romantic style.


Wiener Konzerthaus

The Wiener Konzerthaus was built in 1913 and has been a place for classical music till the end of World War I.


Conservatory Vienna

The Conservatory Vienna is supposed to be one of the worlds best. Altough classified as a very traditional school, it is also considered innovative.


Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra

The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1848 by O. Nicolai. It has a democratic structure and since 1997, women have been accepted to the orchestra.
